Let’s finally make your room feel complete!
These past few weeks have been insane for most college students around the country. Some of you may be returning to school for the first time in the past two years, while others might be adjusting to all in person classes. Two weeks ago I moved into my sorority house and have been adjusting to a new lifestyle, all in person classes, and dealing with a new fashion internship that I just recently acquired (I will be filling you guys in later 😉 ). While I am fully moved into my room (don’t worry photos are to come later), I realized that I could use some decor pieces to spice the place up, so I created a guide of some small things you could add to your dorm or apartment to make it feel more like home!
Fun Candles
Candles are an easy way to brighten up your room (literally!). You could go for a classic yummy smelling candle, like from Boy Smells or you could find some fun candles and use them simply for decor. I personally love both! Funky candles are a cool way to add some color and unique shapes to your room. Check out the candles I love below:
Mirrors
Mirrors are my number one decorating hack. Add them anywhere and they help make a room look bigger! You can find some cool disco inspired mirrors or go with a fun geometrical shaped mirror. Whether they are big and leaning against a wall or smaller and on a shelf, mirrors help make your room look more open. Also, who doesn’t love a cute mirror for a mirror selfie? Here are some of my faves below:
Decorative Containers
Storage is a hot commodity in college or if you’re living in a small New York apartment (which I am extremely jealous of btw). Jars are a great way to store little things and add some fun decor to your room. Put them on top of dressers, shelves, or even a vanity to store cotton pads or Q-tips. I have been loving the Jonathan Adler jars but also love anything that doubles as storage and decor! Here are the one’s I have my eyes on:
Misc.
This next section is all about random decor that you could add to your nightstand, shelf, or really anywhere. I love using decorative books, ring trays, and neon lights to add some color to my room. Here are few suggestions:
Hopefully this guide has given you some new decor inspo! Treat yourself and change up your room to make it feel a little more like home. These products also make great gifts 😉
