My sister reminded me the other day just how draining social media can be, but she reminded me that it doesn’t have to be. Nowadays we spend more and more time on social media. Have you ever thought about what scrolling through hundreds of posts a day does to your mental load? Every profile you follow is a book in your larger library, and I’m now reminding you to clean it out! Get rid of the books that no longer serve you! Here’s how:
1. Say goodbye to the accounts that make you jealous or cause you to start comparing
The accounts you follow should inspire you, rather than making you feel like you are not good enough or not doing enough.
2. Unfollow any account that gives out negative energy
Still following that ex? Or ex-best friend? It’s time to stop stalking them and time to save your energy by unfollowing them. Unfollow any accounts that get you worked up!
3. Unfollow the “filler” accounts
If you are following accounts that you don’t really care about it is time to unfollow. Filter out all the accounts that clutter your feed with nonsense. Don’t waste your mental energy on posts that mean nothing to you.
4. Follow people that inspire you or that you can learn from
Start following accounts that motivate you! Your feed should be filled with posts that influence you in a positive way.
