Here are some of my favorite books that I have read recently! Be sure to comment if you end up reading one of them or already have. If you have any recommendations be sure to comment them below!

This novel deals with prominent issues in our society such as race and privilege. The story follows a babysitter who is accused of kidnapping a child, and what enfolds after are complex relationships that test many limits. This novel is a great way to educate and learn about the injustices our country faces and how to deal with them.
I could not put this book down! This novel is a huge wake up call to every single woman out there, and I recommend that everyone reads it! Each chapter seems to set you freer! The book discusses Doyle’s own personal experiences that challenge readers to wake up from societal standards! It empowers readers to start living for themselves rather than the expectations of others, society, or institutions: denying the status quo. A book that makes you want to cry, scream, and laugh all at once and will leave you feeling your most ferocious self.

A modern day Gossip Girl meets Sex and the City, this novel, written by influencer Danielle Bernstein (@weworewhat), was a fun and quick one to read. It describes how she, a young girl from Long Island, made it into the fashion industry, and is filled with fun random anecdotes about her love life, friendships, and work experiences. It gives you a glimpse into her life behind the scenes and how she made it into the world of blogging.
This novel is loosely based on a real-life incident where a white supremacist father refused to let a Black nurse touch his baby. In Jodi Picoult’s version, the nurse, Ruth, goes on trial for the murder of the baby after he goes into cardiac arrest. This book tackles issues about justice, privilege, race, and morals. A page turner that challenges readers to have uncomfortable conversations about race. It will leave you feeling a whole bunch of different emotions, and you won’t want to put it down.

This novel has twists and turns at every page that no one will expect! Without giving too much away, it deals with a re-kindled friendship between Daphne Berg, a micro-influencer who promotes body positivity, and Drue Cavanaugh, soon to be engaged. The story deals with the hardships of friendships and the consequences of having your life online for everyone to see. It enforces that the most important relationship is the one with yourself.
This is the book behind the talked about series Normal People. The story describes an intense millennial relationship between Connell, a young man who is very popular in high school, and Marianne, a young woman who seems to be lonely. This novel is a story about relationships, friendships, and self-discovery. As you fast forward in time, the story gets more and more complex.
